Pulmonary 1

Laura Legg

Description

This is module number one for the pulmonary and respiratory chapter of ICD-10.

In this module we’re going to look at an overview of the DRGs in chapter 10.

Coders do have to make some complex decisions. When coding in this chapter, our goal is to support the inpatient coders and make some of those decisions easier.

The objectives for our session are to examine DRG blocks for pulmonary DRGs and MDC 4.

We’re going to take a look at the CCs and MCC codes for capture of disease, manifestations, and complications.

We’re going to look at codes, code options, combination codes, and we’re going to look at linking etiology of illness and complications for the most accurate data and DRG assignment.
