Description
This is module number two for cardio-circulatory interventional.
In this module we will be looking at some complex cardiac conditions and DRGs.
Our objectives are to do a deep dive into these DRGs for both coding DRG systems. We’ll look at the documentation needed to capture accurate coding for these cardiac conditions and complications.
We’re going to look at the official coding guidelines that provide a coding instruction for these conditions, and we’ll also look at the episode guidelines to capture complex complications related to care and procedures, for severity of illness.
Our goal is to help inpatient coders become informed and to help them develop broader accuracy in code assignment, as well as, documentation.
