AHIMA Coding and CDI Ethics Compared
Description
Our objectives in this course are to review the AHIMA professional code of ethics, and examine those standards of ethical coding and integrity and of course, this all relates to documentation.
Our panel delves into what the CMS requirement for documentation completeness is, and what do we expect as far as a compliant query to stand up to review standards.
We also review the ethical standards for clinical documentation improvement for CDI professionals that was created in cooperation with AHIMA and ACDIS.
Finally we evaluate the use of prior encounters and queries, and also look at having query policy basics in place to ensure good, compliant coding, data queries, et cetera.
