Other Injuries and Factors Affecting Health 2
Description
This is module number two for injuries, poisonings, and complications of care.
Our objectives today are to review the key terms and documentation necessary to accurately code injuries. We’re going to really take a deep dive into those injury DRGs and we’re going to look at them in both MS-DRG and APR-DRG coding systems.
We’re also going to look at some of the PCS guidelines that are important for accurate procedure code assignment in ICD-10 for injuries, because often we can have a large number of PCS procedures performed on a patient who has traumatic injuries.
And again, we’re going to spend time during our session, linking those procedures and objectives, and talking about accurate data, quality, performance reporting, and DRG assignment.
