This is module number one for the vascular and endocrine systems.
These are complex chapters in ICD-10, and we’ll be taking a pretty deep dive into these DRGs and their coding and documentation requirements.
Our objectives today are to review DRGs for both the vascular and endocrine systems.
As you know, the human body is very complex and isolating one system for another does not allow us to look at all of the intricate coding combination codes and DRGs.
We’re going to have to identify the CCs and MCCs for some ICD-10 combination codes and how to use those.
Next, we’re going to look at code capture of disease, manifestations, and complications.
We’re also going to review some key terms necessary to capture all the documentation requirements for coding at first specificity in ICD-10.
Finally, we are going to link severity of illness, and look at some accurate data in DRG assignment.
