Description
This is module number one for the cardio-circulatory interventional module. We are going to take a deep dive into the cardio DRGs.
This module has three sessions. This first one is on DRG coverage of the MS-DRGs. In session number two, we’re going to continue with the DRGs, adding in some APR-DRG information, as well as some of the more complex conditions.
Session number three is going to conclude a lot of the procedural coding system.
Our objectives are to take a look at some of the key terms and documentation that are needed to, capture these DRGs accurately.
We’re going to identify the CCs and MCCs and combination codes in these DRGs.
We’re also going to discuss capturing all of the manifestations and complications that can raise severity of illness, and also how to link severity of illness and accurate data and performance reporting with DRG assignment.
